Questions people ask first.

If yours is not here, ask it — a short note is enough, and you will get a straight answer.

It means you get an experienced HR professional for the hours you need, rather than hiring one full time. Some businesses need a few hours a month for questions and policy work. Others need a project finished — a handbook, a hiring process, a backlog of employee issues. Either way you are buying judgment and finished work, not a salary, benefits and a desk.

Yes. Calls, documents and questions are all handled remotely by video, phone and email. For the work I do — policy, process, coaching, difficult situations — being in the room adds very little. It also means scheduling fits around your operation rather than the other way around.

Mostly businesses that have employees but no HR department — often somewhere between ten and a few hundred people. The common thread is that people questions have stopped being occasional and started landing on the owner's desk.

Those are the areas I focus on, along with Indiana, and most of my clients are there. Because the work is remote, I can often take on a business a little further out. Ask, and I will tell you honestly.

Usually within a week or two of an initial call. If something urgent is happening — a situation with an employee, a decision you need to make today — say so in your note, and it gets prioritized.

A conversation about your business and what is going on, and whatever documents already exist: a handbook, offer letters, policies, an org chart. If none of it exists, that is a perfectly normal place to start.

No, and I will not pretend to. I handle the HR side — policy, process, employee relations, the day-to-day decisions — and I will tell you plainly when a question is a legal one that belongs with your attorney. Plenty of my clients have both, and the two work together.

Still wondering about something?

Ask it directly. No obligation either way.
